Ready to go
Recently Meg and I had the opportunity to do an engagement session with Nick + Mary Kate. They are a wonderful couple who both have easy going and fun personalities. For their session we shot in two locations. We started at the Woodstock Square (where they filmed the movie Groundhog Day!) and then jumped over to their wedding venue for the rest of the photos.
That's not good!
Anyone who knows my wife Meg knows she is not one who is prone to complaining. When she says she isn't feeling well, then I know she hasn't been feeling well for a little while at that point. Towards the end of shooting at our first location she told me just that! Being the superwomen she is, Meg tried to "push" through the day, even though she was having some flue like symptoms! Needless to say we had to get her home. Luckily, Nick + Mary Kate were completely understanding and wanted to make sure Meg was ok (she got some medicine in her system later that day and was completely better three days later) before we continued with the photos (I offered them an extended session on another day if we couldn't finish, as we were racing the sun at that point, but thankfully we wouldn't need to!).
Calling in the "B-team"
So, as we raced home to drop off Meg, and then meet up again with Nick and Mary Kate, I "recruited" my wonderful in-laws Kelly and Don to come help out. While they may not have known what light shapers I was talking about, they gave their full effort. The"B-Team" definitely earned an A (See what I did there?). We had a blast being carted (the venue event planner with the golf cart was awesome!) around the vineyard on the venue's grounds and ended up with some wonderful images!
After a crazy day of shooting all I can say is how thankful I am for a great family that is always willing to help out, especially in a pinch. Because of them we ended up with some great images and a fun day of adventuring around a vineyard!
